In this exclusive with Medical Dialogues, Dr. Yakshi Chugh discusses an original research article evaluating the efficacy of dual-layer spectral detector computed tomography (DLCT) in detecting early ischemic changes (EICs) in acute ischemic stroke. Published in the Journal of Clinical Imaging Science, the study assessed electron density and effective atomic number imaging in 15 patients, comparing findings with MRI. The results showed higher diagnostic accuracy and interobserver agreement with electron density imaging compared to conventional CT. These findings highlight DLCT’s potential in enhancing diagnostic reliability in emergency stroke settings. This journal is published by Scientific Scholar.
